This Tuesday the skating rink reopens at Gurney's Newport. I am not an ice skater (or skier for that matter), but I do like being outside in the cold only to look forward to going indoors to warm up. And although we love a good lap around Lily Pond when the temperatures allow, Gurney's I think will be a surer bet during the warmer days this winter.
It has been particularly exciting to see Grace Windsor Oyster Minis listed both in Yankee Magazine in the Christmas in Newport spread as well as in Jess Ann Kirby's gift guide - she also has a discount code you can use as a subscriber (and really you should subscribe to her blog!). We are also offering free shipping on everything through December 15 just to sweeten the deal!
It was great to "re-interview" Ashley Provencher with my Ten Questions blog post that accompanies the arrival of her new collection Views From Above at the gallery just in time for our Holiday Open House Saturday. Read on here.
As you may know, I am an enormous fan of Tom Deininger's artwork. What you may not know is alongside his conceptual sculptures and assemblages, Tom is also busy painting majestic landscapes, scenes around the barn where his studio is and just about any bird that comes within view. I feel beyond lucky to have his latest collection in the gallery and you can get a chance to preview it here. But it really is a sight to be seen in person!
A great place to see both Ashley's and Tom's work as well as Helen Hadley's and a handful of others is at my annual Holiday Open House & Party on Saturday, November 30. We are open that day 10am-9pm with the party (translation: festive holiday cocktails) from 6-9pm. We will have an amazing collection of artwork perfect for giving and for getting and greenlion will have their wreath pop-up shop set up (this wreath sale is in lieu of our annual wreath workshop - they are just that good!!) and we will have hundreds of hand painted ornaments, art, objects and artisanal gifts! Please Rsvp by responding to this email or the 25 others coming before November 30!

See you in the gallery and online. Much love XO Kristen
